The Basista legacy began in 1920 when Stanley Basista Senior opened West Clark Appliance, selling to hundreds of northeast Ohioans. He transitioned from appliances to furniture in 1957, opening Basista Furniture at its current Parma location on State Road, just south of I-480. When the open doors first welcomed customers, Stanley Sr. was determined to sell high-quality furniture at affordable prices while placing a premium on customer service. This is a business philosophy carried on by Stan Seniorís two sons - Stan and Tom - to this day.
Stan Junior and his brother Tom fondly remember working alongside their father while young boys - cleaning, stocking shelves and moving furniture. With their fatherís constant encouragement, they grew to handle all day-to-day business at Basista furniture. They now own and manage the family enterprise.
The Basista brothers expanded the store in 1988, adding 20,000 square feet of beautiful showroom space. Then in 2002, Basista Furniture became one of the countryís first furniture stores to sell on the internet, positioning itself as a leader in the industry nationwide.
Today, Stanley Seniorís two sons can still be found in the store their father opened - serving customers, moving furniture and making deliveries. Stan and Tom continue their fatherís legacy of helping people furnish, start to finish, the style-filled home of their dreams.
